Historic 1880’s Building
“The team at fi architecture takes extra care to understand each nuance of a project owner’s goals, to ensure the finished product is authentic and timeless. fi has been our design partner for all of our projects over the last decade and the responses we get from customers when they enter each of our unique, visually intoxicating, spaces speak volumes to the visions that were turned into reality through fi’s professional approach.”

The historic Northwestern Improvement Company Building, built in 1889, served as the original company store for coal mining activities throughout the early 20th century. The historic character of the building provides an ideal backdrop for the design aesthetic developed for Heritage Distilling Co.’s distillery. The 10,500 square foot tenant improvement project includes small-scale spirits production, retail, tasting and event spaces throughout.
Heritage’s internal space program and typical adjacencies were adapted to fit within the multi-level existing structure. The customer experience is enriched by providing many sights and discoverable spaces as they move from the initial tasting room and retail experience on the lower level to the Cask Club and production spaces at mid-level and additional event and overlook spaces at the upper level.
