Tasting room
“I have worked with Darrin Filand and the team at fi architecture since 2011 on a variety of innovative and complex projects, large and small. Beyond being gifted architects, the team’s true talent is looking at the specific scope of each project to ensure their programmatic needs fit now and into the future, looking at every aspect of the user interface and experience while maintaining a focus on budgetary restraint.”

Customer seating areas, service, and tasting bars, product retail and sales counter, wooden cask display walls, large operable bi-fold window wall.
Located at the most prominent intersection in Gig Harbor’s downtown waterfront, the building was completely renovated both inside and out to preserve the structure’s historic character while creating a warm and welcoming environment on the interior. The most popular seating with customers is adjacent the window wall as they engage with those who walk by. All the products and services offered by the distillery are on full display, for a visual and immersive experience.

“Working with Darrin Filand and the professionals at fi architecture for this last decade has been a joy. Darrin and his team have worked on multiple projects for us ranging from very small to very large and very complex. At each step of the process, he takes the cumulative learnings of the past to apply in a new way for the next project.
Our waterfront distillery tasting room, with its unique location and the challenging bones of the building, turned our family-owned business into the ‘must stop’ place for visitors and regulars alike in Gig Harbor. The proof is in the foot traffic, customer and city government response to the finished product.
If you desire an architect who becomes vested in your projects and has the ability to bring multiple stakeholders and opinions together for a finished product that actually works, Darrin Filand should be at the top of your list.”
