Quinault Retreat

On the shore of Lake Quinault, in Olympic National Park, the family homestead predates the National Park System which allowed a modest retreat to be constructed. The design features rainwater collection, grey and black water incineration, photovoltaic array with battery storage, propane fuel, thermal insulation, LED lighting, fewer fixtures and appliances, plus a family heirloom wood-stove for heat and cooking.
